The Challenge
An innovative medical aesthetics startup aimed to empower Med Spa professionals with advanced AI tools for precise facial treatment analysis. Facing the dual challenges of 1) a lack of in-house AI expertise and 2) the necessity to demonstrate distinct innovation to carve out a niche, their goal was to streamline operations and enhance patient outcomes through detailed visual progress assessments. This ambition sought to improve efficiency and engagement, while also establishing new standards of care and precision.

The Solution
Strategic AI Integration and Product Development
We began our engagement using the Xyonix Pathfinder process, which allowed us to build a detailed understanding of the clients’ needs and desires and outline a robust AI strategy and project plan to help us get there. We brought our AI and software development expertise to the forefront of our collaboration by focusing on the core requirement: enabling patients to take high-quality, standardized photos of their faces via an iPhone app that were traditionally done with expensive, in-house camera equipment. Our AI-driven solution allowed for consistent portrait formatting and automatic flagging of body parts for photo segmentation, facilitating subsequent labeling and automated analysis.
HIPAA-Compliant Backend and iOS Frontend
The system backend was designed with HIPAA compliance in mind on top of our Mayetrix Platform, featuring data access tracking and regulatory documentation assistance; the system also supported detailed imagery storage and retrieval, enabling easy labeling and management of patient photos. In addition, the system facilitated ground truth exportation for new model construction and distributed back catalog AI model driven analysis. On the frontend, we leveraged iOS's capabilities to enhance visual segmentation and labeling, ensuring a seamless user experience for both patients and practitioners.
Conversational Nurse Bot
From there we explored the development of a conversational nurse chatbot, utilizing an LLM, we generated an exhaustive question-answer knowledge base that could be curated for high accuracy. We also put in place strict LLM hallucination prevention strategies to address any potential health risks. This bot was designed to efficiently answer patient queries, aiming to further streamline the daily tasks of nurse practitioners.
Strategic Product Planning and Agile Development
Xyonix played a pivotal role in strategic product planning, introducing agile development processes and advising on data science integration, model efficacy assessment, and achieving product-market fit. We also offered regular insights into product trials, investor expectations, and feedback mechanisms.
